CUDDLY and NYCSCR Launch East Coast Rescue Rover to Save Animals from Overcrowded Shelters

The collaboration between CUDDLY, a mission-driven organization dedicated to animal welfare, and New York City Second Chance Rescue (NYCSCR) has led to the introduction of the East Coast Rescue Rover. This specially designed transport van is set to play a pivotal role in relocating vulnerable animals from overcrowded shelters in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn to NYCSCR's new rescue center in Long Island City. The initiative is a response to the critical issue of shelter congestion, particularly during peak intake periods such as summer and hurricane season.

Funded by CUDDLY's subscription program, CUDDLY Club, the Rescue Rover represents a beacon of hope for animals at risk of euthanasia. Amy Peterson, Director of Event Marketing at CUDDLY, underscored the initiative's significance in not only saving lives but also in facilitating the animals' journey to finding forever homes. Jennifer Brooks, President and Founder of NYC Second Chance Rescue, echoed this sentiment, pointing to the initiative's alignment with their mission to rescue and rehabilitate animals, a cause that has seen over 16,000 lives saved since 2009.

The debut of the Rescue Rover was celebrated with a welcome party for dogs rescued from local shelters, symbolizing a fresh start for these animals. This initiative follows the success of CUDDLY's first Rescue Rover in Austin, TX, with plans underway to introduce a third van later this year. Support for this life-saving mission can be extended through the CUDDLY Club or by purchasing CUDDLY's high-quality pet products, which contribute to feeding shelter animals and supporting over 4,500 partner organizations.
