NFL Star Jarvis Landry and Big Brothers Big Sisters Brighten School Year for Broward County Children

The annual Lace Up for Learning event, a collaborative effort between NFL star Jarvis Landry and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, has once again made a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of children in the community. Over 500 pairs of sneakers were distributed to children, known as Littles, in the program, alongside a day filled with games, music, and educational support. This initiative not only provided the children with essential items for the school year but also offered them a day of joy and encouragement.

Jarvis Landry, a five-time Pro Bowler and former Miami Dolphin, played a pivotal role in the event, making a special appearance at Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale. His foundation, The Impact Group Project, sponsored the hydration station, showcasing Landry's dedication to giving back to the community. Landry highlighted the importance of the event, stating, "Starting school with a new pair of shoes will do wonders for a child’s self-esteem." This statement reflects the event's broader goal of boosting confidence among the youth, ensuring they start the school year on a positive note.

The event was made possible through the support of several organizations, including Ana G. Mendez University, Good Greek Moving and Storage, Comcast, and the BBX Capital Foundation. These sponsors contributed to providing more than 300 students with fully stocked school supply kits, further emphasizing the community's commitment to supporting the educational needs of children.
