The Boca Raton Historical Society celebrated another successful Toasts, Tastes & Trolleys event on September 12, marking the continuation of a tradition that connects community members with the city's rich heritage. The sold-out progressive tour treated guests to culinary experiences and behind-the-scenes access to historic landmarks throughout Boca Raton and beyond.
Committee Chair Dawn Zook emphasized the event's significance, stating it reflects everything the community loves about Boca Raton—community, culture, and curiosity. The evening began with a welcome reception at The Boca Raton, where guests boarded vintage Molly's Trolleys for curated routes featuring five unique destinations.
Participants enjoyed exclusive access to notable locations, including the President's Box at FAU Stadium, where Florida Atlantic University President Adam Hasner welcomed attendees. The tour also featured stops at Paradise Bank's new offices, the Opal Grand Resort & Spa's grand lobby and Monkey Bar in Delray Beach, and Kasumi Japanese restaurant at Waterstone Resort & Marina.
A particularly nostalgic moment occurred at City of Boca Raton Fire Station #3, where retired Fire Chief Tom Wood greeted guests alongside the city's original 1925 fire engine, "Old Betsy." Many attendees photographed themselves beside the station's historical marker, which was installed through BRHS efforts last year.
The event's proceeds support the Boca Raton Historical Society's mission to preserve and share the city's history through exhibits, programs, and educational outreach. For additional information about the organization's work, visit BocaHistory.org.
This year's event received support from numerous sponsors, including host sponsor The Boca Raton, trolley sponsors Morgan Stanley Harbor Financial, Berman Law Group, Fairman & Associates Inc., Joni Goldberg & Al Goldberg, Premier Estates Properties, and Red Reef Advisors, along with beverage sponsor Republic National Distributing Company.
