Ethiopian Churches Adopt Shincheonji Identity in Major Religious Shift

The religious landscape in Ethiopia has experienced a substantial transformation as eighty-four churches across ten cities have officially changed their signboards to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. This development follows a signboard changing ceremony hosted by Shincheonji Church's Peter Tribe on September 10th, where participating pastors declared their membership in the organization. The transformation began when Ethiopian Pastor Asefa Angeto attended the 2nd Global Invitation Revelation Seminar in November 2024 at the Shincheonji Cheongju Church in South Korea. Upon returning to Ethiopia, Pastor Asefa conducted extensive outreach, traveling to more than one hundred churches in ten cities to share the theological teachings he had acquired. His seminars focused on testifying the revealed word learned from Shincheonji Church of Jesus, ultimately leading to the widespread adoption of the new denominational identity.

The participating pastors emphasized their commitment to theological education, stating they had mastered the word of the New Covenant Revelation and resolved to preach this doctrine throughout Ethiopia.
