Georgia Accounting Food Fight Raises $380,071.50 to Combat Hunger, Providing 1.5 Million Meals

The 2025 Georgia Accounting Food Fight has concluded with remarkable success, raising $380,071.50—equivalent to nearly 1.5 million meals—to support food banks across the state during a critical period of need. This annual fundraising campaign, now in its 12th year, represents a collaborative effort between Feeding Georgia and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, addressing the urgent issue of food insecurity that affects approximately one in seven Georgians.

Julie Kuykendall, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia, expressed gratitude for the accounting professionals' efforts, noting that their contributions will help ensure families and neighbors receive nourishing food. The campaign's timing is strategically aligned to restock food banks after the summer surge caused by the conclusion of school lunch assistance programs, making the funds particularly impactful for communities in need.

Collins/Moody & Company earned the title of Grand Prize Food Fight Hero by raising $2,100 and achieving the most points per employee statewide, while Nichols, Cauley and Associates won Grand Prize Hunger Champion for raising $61,140.67 with the most overall points. Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs, highlighted the campaign's record-breaking impact, noting that CPAs across Georgia have collectively contributed nearly $2.9 million since the initiative's inception in 2014. This amounts to 11,706,538 meals distributed through nine regional food banks, with all funds raised by each team staying local to benefit their communities.
