Orange County United Way Launches Ambitious 5-Year Plan to Create 4 Million Community Impact Moments

Orange County United Way has unveiled UNITED4OC 2030, a comprehensive five-year strategic plan designed to strengthen the local workforce, improve economic health, and enhance community well-being throughout Orange County. The initiative calls for collective action from individuals, businesses, and community leaders to address the region's most critical challenges.

The centerpiece of UNITED4OC 2030 is an ambitious target to generate 4 million moments of impact by 2030, creating a more resilient community. These impacts can range from attending educational events and making financial contributions to volunteering time or mentoring students, with each action contributing to meaningful change.

Lawrence R. Armstrong, Board Chair of Orange County United Way, emphasized the plan's significance, stating that it will pave the way for a stronger and more united future. The organization is inviting the entire community to participate in this five-year journey, investing time and resources alongside neighbors to improve lives both now and for future generations.

The initiative launched with nearly 500 people participating in family-friendly two-mile walks across all 34 Orange County cities on September 6. The event brought together United Way executives, staff, local elected officials, community members, and media representatives.

Susan B. Parks, President and CEO of Orange County United Way, noted that the organization is well positioned to drive meaningful change and fill critical gaps in community services. She emphasized that UNITED4OC 2030 represents an invitation to every resident, business, faith community, and leader to contribute in whatever way they can, with every moment of impact helping shape a better Orange County.

The strategic plan focuses on expanding access and opportunities for vulnerable populations through several key initiatives. United for Student Success provides holistic support to close opportunity gaps for underserved youth, focusing on student readiness, high school graduation, and college and career preparedness. United for Financial Security works toward long-term economic stability through systemic financial wellness solutions, advocacy, and education programs. United to End Homelessness addresses root causes of homelessness through prevention and housing initiatives, while 211OC connects individuals and families to crucial services through an integrated social services network with real-time care coordination.
