Road to Responsibility, one of the region's largest nonprofit organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has opened a new residential program on Range Avenue in Taunton, Massachusetts. The newly constructed single-story residence will provide housing for several current RTR members with disabilities and autism who have transitioned from the educational system, while also creating opportunities for others on the waiting list for similar services through the Department of Developmental Services.

The Taunton home offers a supportive environment with comprehensive services, 24-hour staffing, and independent living options that incorporate smart technology. This expansion represents a significant step in addressing the growing demand for quality residential services for adults with disabilities in the region. Christopher T. White, Ed.D., president and CEO of Road to Responsibility, emphasized the organization's commitment to developing high-quality supportive homes that empower individuals to live more independently and with dignity.

The residence was developed by long-time RTR partner Patriot Investment Corp. of South Easton and is currently leased to the organization. This partnership model has proven effective in facilitating the expansion of vital services across Massachusetts. Road to Responsibility, which celebrates more than 37 years of service, operates 49 residences as well as cooperative and supportive living apartments throughout the South Shore and South Coast regions.

The organization's integrated clinical behavioral approach has demonstrated success in serving individuals with diverse needs, including those with significant challenges who might otherwise go unserved.
