Youth Artists Create Symbolic Panther Sculpture to Support Cancer Research Through Community Partnership

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County has unveiled a symbolic panther sculpture created by four young artists as part of the Panthers on the Prowl campaign, an initiative that combines art, community engagement, and philanthropy to support cancer research and patient services. The sculpture represents a collaborative effort between Rick Case Automotive Group, the Florida Panthers hockey organization, and the American Cancer Society.

Four talented artists from the Rita & Rick Case Boys & Girls Club dedicated four weeks to creating a design that reflects Rita Case's personal journey and the campaign's mission. Their artwork features a road lined with Rick Case Automotive Group dealership brands running along the panther's back, incorporating the Florida Panthers logo, American Cancer Society pink socks symbolizing cancer courage, and empowering words highlighting both cancer survivorship and the Boys & Girls Clubs' youth development mission.

Natalie Chin Sue, lead art instructor, emphasized the deeper meaning behind the project, stating that the creation process demonstrated how multiple organizations can collaborate to create positive change. The artists named their masterpiece Legacy on the Prowl to honor the community impact of Rita and Rick Case while celebrating the Boys & Girls Clubs' enduring influence on youth across generations.

The sculpture will be featured as part of the Panthers on the Prowl initiative, which will showcase selected decorated panther sculptures during a special event night at Amerant Bank Arena during the 2025–2026 NHL season.
