Meals On Wheels Atlanta Golf Classic Raises $130,000 to Support Homebound Seniors

The 25th Annual Golf Classic hosted by Meals On Wheels Atlanta at TPC Sugarloaf generated $130,000 in critical funding that will support the organization's mission of serving homebound seniors. The milestone event attracted over 100 golfers and corporate partners who participated in championship play, on-course contests, and an awards reception while supporting neighbors who depend on the nonprofit for lifesaving meals, pet food, and wellness checks.

Charlene Crusoe-Ingram, CEO of Meals On Wheels Atlanta, emphasized the broader impact of the fundraising success. The generosity on display ensures thousands of nourishing meals reach seniors who count on us, she stated. Beyond the food, each delivery is a caring connection that reminds our neighbors they are not alone. The funds raised will provide more than 89,000 home-delivered meals to Atlanta seniors facing food insecurity and social isolation.

Tournament Director Jamie Martin noted the enthusiastic participation from the community. Our golfers and sponsors showed up in force, Martin said. From the first tee shot to the last putt, the energy translated directly into meals—and hope—for our senior neighbors. The event's success highlights the ongoing community support for Meals On Wheels Atlanta's expanded services, which now include personalized and therapeutic meals, home repair assistance, emergency food pantries, and a pet pantry program.

The organization expressed gratitude to numerous sponsors whose contributions made the event possible, including Sysco, Southern Company, and Northside Hospital. Additional support came from corporate partners such as Publix, Tito's, and 1792 Capital. Meals On Wheels Atlanta relies heavily on private donations, with 97% of its funding coming from community support each year.

Founded in 1965, Meals On Wheels Atlanta has evolved from a small soup kitchen into an organization that has delivered over six million meals throughout the Atlanta area. The nonprofit has developed additional revenue streams through social enterprises including 1705WEST, Atlanta's premier event space with a purpose, and Purposeful Gourmet Foods, with all proceeds benefiting the meals program. The organization continues to address critical needs among Atlanta's senior population through comprehensive services designed to help older adults maintain independence and dignity.
